Convoys Wharf is a 43-acre site on the River Thames in Deptford, South East London. It is one of the largest remaining development opportunities in the London Docklands, just minutes from Deptford High Street and close to Greenwich.
The site was acquired by Hutchison Whampoa Properties Ltd for predominantly residential development, which will be complemented by retail and commercial floorspace. Hutchison Whampoa Properties, best known for its development and management of docks in places like Hong Kong, commissioned our team to advise on how to transform Convoys Wharf into an attractive place to live and work.
We have developed a destination brand concept - The Creative Place - for the creation of a mixed-use retail, entertainment and arts centre to sit at the heart of the new development on the waterside, predominantly to be housed in an existing building, "The Olympia", reflecting the development's location in one of the Mayor of London's two "Creative Hubs". The concept includes the provision of space for a variety of creative businesses, including fashion, accessories, furniture, fabrics and lighting, with space for restaurants, cooking academies and the performing arts.
