Colliers' Global Development Solutions team continues to work with the Zoological Society of London, KUD Ltd and the London Development Agency on this 14,000 square-meter aquarium which is the cornerstone of Silvertown Quays - a £1billion mixed-use development in East London.

We prepared the initial market forecast and outline business plan for the aquarium in 2001/02. In 2004/05, we prepared a full business plan with an economic and social impact assessment to support the financing and planning processes, and also advised on ticketing strategy and requirements and assisted with the preparation of a Heritage Lottery Fund application. In 2007, we updated the market forecasts and business plan, including development of a new financial model with detailed coverage of cash flows throughout the development and construction period, as well as the first year of operation.

Our work helped to secure planning permission, made a persuasive case for the development, and secured public funding from the LDA. Furthermore, our detailed Business Plan was fundamental to securing bank financing for the development.
