Since 1998, we have advised Cardiff County Council and its partners on the development of the International Sports Village, which comprises a 70-acre site on the western edge of Cardiff Bay. Having formerly been home to a range of dock-related uses and the City's rubbish tip, the land is currently being remediated and the Bay edge revetments constructed as a precursor to wholesale redevelopment. The completed scheme is intended to include:
- Aquatic centre (50m swimming pool plus leisure facilities)
- Snow dome (35m high with 5 ski runs)
- Leisure ice pad
- Ice climbing wall
- Indoor caving
- 7,400 square-meter health and fitness suite
- 10,000-seat indoor arena
- 3,700 square meters of sports-related retailing
- Class A3 bars, restaurants and food courts
- Crèche
- 4,650 square-meters of family entertainment
- 1,467 units of residential housing
- Hotel/s (500 hotel beds - one or two hotels)
- Conference Centre for up to 1,000 people
- 80-bed Casino Travel Lodge
- ‘Apartels' (190 units)
- Food retailing (9,290 square-meter food store)
- Bulk goods retailing (12,100 square meters)
- Two fast food drive-through restaurants totaling 280 square meters
