Our public outreach program was developed to mitigate community opposition to our clients' development projects. While a unique program will be specifically developed to suit your project's needs, the basic premise remains the same: Open communication provided as soon as possible.
We reach out to the media, community groups and government officials from the outset of a project. We host design charettes to get community members involved and committed to the project. We reach out to local schools and offer programs which integrate classroom instruction with field lessons. In addition, we may recommend opening up project offices on-site or various other public outreach opportunities.
All of our large development projects include public outreach components, including the San Juan Waterfront. Our community outreach program for that project recently began with our "Kids Building San Juan Waterfront" program. Combining classroom instruction with field lessons, the program has a group of 6th and 8th grade students at a local San Juan middle school following the development and construction of the San Juan Waterfront. Among its many benefits, the program gives participants a sense of ownership in the new community and introduces students to professions that may otherwise be unknown to them.
